Marketing Year 2025-26 saw U.S. wheat exports to Sub-Saharan Africa increase by 138%, making it one of the strongest year-over-year growth performances among USW’s international regions. In this short video, Chad Weigand, USW Regional Director for the region, talks about the work his staff has done to achieve recent successes. He also shares that work must be done to maintain momentum in the challenging market. Weigand points to the first-ever USW Sub-Saharan Africa Wheat Buyers Conference, held in Cape Town in April 2025, for creating some direct sales of U.S. wheat.
