U.S. Wheat Associates is seeking a Director of Industry Relations to work in our office in Portland, Oregon. We are looking for a strong candidate that understands and values the wheat industry and the role of international trade.

Director of Industry Relations

U.S. Wheat Associates (USW)
Location: Portland, Oregon
Reports To: President and CEO

The Director of Industry Relations position can be summarized into five primary functions:

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with all USW member state wheat organizations and stakeholders across the wheat industry, while representing USW at producer meetings and industry events.
2. Provide day-to-day oversight and coordination of Portland Office administrative and operational activities, including budgeting, resource utilization, and staff coordination.
3. Support USW’s overseas offices and international market development activities, including hosting visiting trade teams, customers, and training program participants.
4. Monitor global wheat production, trade flows, customer preferences, supply chain developments, and competitive market conditions, and insights to support organizational decisions.
5. Communicate market developments and program results to producers, state wheat commissions and industry partners while helping ensure responsible stewardship of producer checkoff dollars and U.S. Department of Agriculture funds.
